Contributing to the region’s sustainable development is one of our key commitments in terms of social responsibility. In line with this objective, we offer support to the communities in which we operate through sponsorships and targeted social initiatives, which can be divided into three main areas:

  • culture, education and training
  • social support and healthcare
  • young people and sports.

When selecting social assistance projects, we follow a specific procedure set out in the Code of Ethics which governs the methods of selecting initiatives to be promoted and supported, involves the members of the Sustainability Committee as a whole or individually, and involves collaboration with Fondazione Sodalitas and other non-profit organisations, such as Mediafriends and the Italian Donation Institute.

The Group promotes and supports, through sponsorships and in other ways, social and cultural initiatives that are consistent with its corporate mission and vision and its strategic policies.

Code of Ethics

Initiatives promoting culture: for more than 30 years, Fondazione Arnoldo e Alberto Mondadori has actively worked to preserve and promote the history of publishing in Italy. Since the mid-1990s, it has become a centre of research and study on Italy’s publishing culture, joining a network of similar organisations in Europe and worldwide.

Mediafriends: a non-profit organisation founded in 2003 by Mondadori, Mediaset and Medusa, which devises, designs, carries out and promotes events to raise funds for charity and to finance targeted projects in a variety of sectors (social welfare and healthcare, charity, teaching and training, the promotion of culture, environmental protection, international cooperation).

Raising awareness of social issues: through our brands (books, magazines and other activities), we support numerous projects and raises public awareness of various social issues (work, violence against women, environmental protection).

Direct charitable donations: every year, we make generous charitable donations to various organisations and associations for projects involving social assistance and healthcare, children, women and persons with disabilities.

Initiatives at the head office: we organise various charity and social initiatives at our Segrate head office (fundraising for non-profit organisations, and days dedicated to blood donation and to focusing on and raising awareness of issues such as organ donation, rare diseases and disabling conditions).

Activities to promote sustainability: through our membership of associations such as Sodalitas, CSR Network and Valore D, we play an active role in the individual social utility projects that they promote.
