Sperling & Kupfer Sperling & Kupfer is one of the oldest publishing houses in Milan, having been founded in 1899 by two German booksellers. In the 1980s the Sperling & Kupfer imprint was re-launched when it was incorporated into the Mondadori Group and in the same period Sperling Paperback catalogue was created which now has over 1,600 titles. In 1995 it was definitively bought by Mondadori which, while maintaining the fundamental characteristics of the company - an international spirit and a particular focus on current affairs - has developed the main lines of production: fiction, current affairs, non-fiction, economics, manuals and popular science. In 2006 Mondadori Informatica Libri was absorbed by Sperling & Kupfer. In the fiction area Sperling & Kupfer has a range of consolidated authors such as Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark, Sergio Bambaren, Danielle Steel and, among the Italians, Sveva Casati Modignani, Paolo Mosca, Alessandra Appiano and Maria Daniela Raineri. The company's significant non-fiction catalogue, meanwhile, features important authors such as Giampaolo Pansa, Luca Talese, Renata Pisu, Eduardo Galeano, Gianni Minà, Shirin Ebadi, Valeria Della Valle and Antonio Caprarica. |
