Random House Mondadori

In 2007 Random House Mondadori consolidated its leadership in the Spanish-speaking market with a prestigious editorial programme and leading position in the national and international fiction sector, both in Spain and Latin America.

The event of the year was the publication of the sequel to Ken Follett's Los pilares de la Tierra, published in Spain with the title Un mundo sin fin, which beat all records in the Spanish book market with sales of 700,000 copies in just a few days in the month of December.
The number of Nobel prize-winners in the Random House Mondadori catalogue, which is already around twenty, was further enriched with the publication of the latest book La grieta by Doris Lessing, winner of the 2007 Nobel Prize for Literature, along with a number of her other important works, reissued in the Debolsillo series, Spain's most important paperback series.

Other successful titles included El ataque contra la razón, the new book by Al Gore, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, La carretera by Cormac McCarthy, winner of the Pulitzer Prize, El cuento número trece by Diane Setterfield and La ladrona de libros by Markus Zusak. In Spanish fiction, Isabel Allende, who has published all her books with Random House Mondadori, achieved exceptional success both in Spain and Latin America with her new book, La suma de los días. Meanwhile, Julia Navarro published her new novel, La sangre de los inocentes, to excellent critical reception and the sale of rights to 8 foreign publishers, confirming her position as an author of international appeal, alongside Ildefonso Falcones, the rights to whose book La catedral del mar have been sold in 32 countries.
