Chief Executive Officer
Ernesto Mauri has been Chief Executive Officer of the Mondadori Group since March 2013, Chairman of Mondadori France since August 2008 and Chairman of Mondadori Libri S.p.A. since January 2015.
Since July 2014, he has been a member of the President’s Committee of FIEG (Federazione Italiana Editori Giornali), the Italian newspaper and magazine publishers association.
Born in Vimercate (MB), Ernesto Mauri has a degree in economics and business administration. After an initial stint in an auditing firm, Mauri begins his career in publishing in 1975 at Rusconi, where he becomes General Manager in 1980. In 1991, he joins Mondadori as General Manager of the Magazines Division, later moving on to Telecom Group in October 2000, where he occupies the position of CEO of La7. In July 2003, he joins the Cairo Communication Group, as CEO of Giorgio Mondadori Editore and Cairo Editore.
Mauri returns to Mondadori in July 2007 as General Manager of Mondadori France; he has been Chairman of said company since August 2008. In April 2011, he is appointed Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by Frédéric Mitterrand, French Minister of Culture and Communication. In November 2012, he becomes General Manager of the Group’s Magazines Division.
