In 2018, the Mondadori Group recorded revenues of 891.1 million euro [1]. Our activities in the publishing segment range from the creation of products to their marketing and distribution.

In the books sector, we operate through Mondadori Libri S.p.A., a subsidiary which has absorbed the range of book publishing activities over the last three
years, with a view to strengthening and developing the segment. The two different divisions have been maintained in the new company:

  • Trade, which publishes novels and essays under the brands Mondadori, Giulio Einaudi publisher, Electa, Fabbri Editori, Piemme, Rizzoli, BUR, Rizzoli Lizard and Sperling & Kupfer;
  • Educational, which brings together all the book production designed internally (from school publishing and training in general, Mondadori Education, to art and illustrated books), as well as the organization and management of exhibitions and archaeological sites.

With the acquisition of Rizzoli in 2016, we have consolidated our competitive position in the Italian market for trade books (with the brands Rizzoli, BUR, Rizzoli Lizard and Fabbri Editori) and school textbooks (Rizzoli Education), as well as in the international illustrated sector (Rizzoli International Publishing).

Activities involving a direct relationship with consumers are managed by subsidiary Mondadori Retail, through a network of 595 stores (directly managed and in franchising) and the e-commerce site mondadoristore.it.

First magazine publisher in Italy with a 30.7% market share (in terms of circulation), with the acquisition of Banzai Media digital brands  (June 2016) we also become the first Italian digital publisher , a leader in women, food, health & wellness vertical segments, strategic areas that allow you to integrate and expand the offering of multi-channel brands.

We are also present abroad through subsidiary Mondadori France (since 2006) – which publishes, among other things, the French edition of Grazia and the weekly people magazine Closer – and through the international editions of our highly recognised brands, such as Grazia, Interni, Flair and Icon.

Listing

The ordinary shares of Arnoldo Mondadori Editore S.p.A. have been listed in Milan’s stock exchange since 1982 (ISIN: IT 0001469383; trading code: MN). The security is in the STAR segment of Borsa Italiana (FTSE Italia Mid Cap index), media sector.

Management

Marina Berlusconi has been our Chairperson since February 2003 and, since October 2005, has been Chairperson of Fininvest S.p.A., holding that owns 53.3% of Mondadori. Ernesto Mauri has been our Chief Executive Officer since March 2013.
