In 2016, the Mondadori Group (over 50 subsidiary or associated companies and 3,076 employees mainly in Italy and France) boasted sales of about 1.3 billion euro. Its activities in the publishing segment range from the creation of products to their marketing and distribution.

In the books sector, we operate through subsidiary company Mondadori Libri S.p.A.: established in November 2014, this company groups the pre-existing publishers (Giulio Einaudi editore, Sperling & Kupfer, Piemme, Electa, Mondadori Education) and the Mondadori books segment. The two different divisions have been maintained in the new company: Trade, which publishes novels and essays, and Educational, which groups together all internally developed book production (from school texts and training manuals in general to art books and illustrated books), as well as the organisation and management of exhibitions and archaeological sites. Moreover, in April 2016, we completed our acquisition of Rizzoli Libri, consolidating our competitive position on the Italian trade and educational books market, in addition to the international illustrated books market.

First magazine publisher in Italy with a 31.7% market share (in terms of circulation), with the acquisition of Banzai Media digital brands  (June 2016) we also become the first Italian digital publisher , a leader in women, food, health & wellness vertical segments, strategic areas that allow you to integrate and expand the offering of multi-channel brands.

We are also present abroad through subsidiary Mondadori France (since 2006) – which publishes, among other things, the French edition of Grazia and the weekly people magazine Closer – and through the international editions of our highly recognised brands, such as Grazia, Interni, Flair and Icon.

Activities involving a direct relationship with consumers are managed by subsidiary Mondadori Retail, through a network of some 600 stores (directly managed and in franchising) and the e-commerce site mondadoristore.it.

Listing

The ordinary shares of Arnoldo Mondadori Editore S.p.A. have been listed in Milan’s stock exchange since 1982 (ISIN: IT 0001469383; trading code: MN). The security is in the STAR segment of Borsa Italiana (FTSE Italia Small Cap index), media sector.

Management

Marina Berlusconi has been our Chairperson since February 2003 and, since October 2005, has been Chairperson of Fininvest S.p.A., holding that owns 53.3% of Mondadori. Ernesto Mauri has been our Chief Executive Officer since March 2013.
