Mondadori Education is an important player in the school textbook market in Italy while Mondadori Electa is the country’s biggest publishing company for art and illustrated books. Mondadori also operates outside of Italy.
On top of that, in april 2016, the Company has completed the acquisition of RCS Libri strengthening its competitive position on the Italian trade and education books market, and on the international illustrated books market.
The ebook market in 2015 accounted for about 6.2% of total revenues in the Books Trade. The total downloads were 2.2 million, an increase compared to 2.1 million in 2014 while the catalog ebook surpassed the 10,200 titles approaching the completion of the phase of digitalization of the most interesting part of the catalog.
